1.Suraj ka satvaan ghoda
This epic tail of malik mullah based on the famous novel of dharmveer Bharti was portrayed beautifully on screen by director shyam benegal.Rajit kapoor as malik mullah performed outstanding and it is a must watch movie which tells the story of love chapters of manik mullah which impacted his life.
2.Bandit queen
Directed by Shekhar kapoor,packed with power performers Sima sahu in lead,Nirmal pandey and manoj Bajpayee ,the movie revolves around phoolan devi and her gang,belonging to lower caste she faces sexual abuse and discrimination and how turning of events made her the leader of male dominant chambal's dacoits. This movie is a masterpiece based on true events.
3.Pipli live
This story by anusha rizvi,directed by amir khan followed story of a poor farmer Natha who tried to commit suicide to get government compensation ,Natha's life turned upside down when a local media person covered his story and in the midst of election scenario it became national hype...this movie depicts the reality of our society and where we are headed to.
4.Mirch masala
This story of a strong women working in a small factory of Chilli powder in a village who revolts against the ruler and deny to compromise her self esteem will leave you with tears.the storyline is crisp and the background reflects real india.actors such as ompuri and nassiruddin proved thier worth in this movie.
5.Ankhon dekhi
This cult movie explores a new dimension of cinema and turned the audience towards philosophy. It followed footprints of its central character bauji as sanjay mishra who lived in Delhi in extended family,in his late fifties during his daughter's marriage preparation his views changed and ge decided to only believe what he sees or experience and denied any other accepted truth.
