lack of gender awareness in india:A real issue

In our Indian society we have been fed with loads of gender biased information right from our homes to our colleges ,and this approach of differentiation between the genders lacks approach of mutual understanding and kills the curiosity
There has been a natural curiosity to know the opposite gender but due to socitieal conservative structure conversation between opposite gender is too limited.
Interaction between two opposite genders is not considered healthy and is not encouraged in our families and schools.
Educational curriculum also lack the approach to create awareness among the students and the coeducational pattern is followed just for the namesake,as teachers with dogmatic mindset never openly talk about the genders.
I think lack of gender awareness engenders henious crimes such as sexual assault, rape and even murders.as the source of information is limited and misleading (adult movies)which creates a mindset of objectifying specific gender.
There should be a comprehensive approach in our educational curriculum which matures with age and proper introduction about sexual characteristics should be taught so that upcoming generation should know how to respect and respond to opposite gender.
Also media could be a leading player in this initiative by providing informative content according to different age groups, movies and short stories could effectively reduce the unawareness and give better insight.
Thus we should understand that both genders are necessary for human development and we need mutual understanding of each other to build a healthy society .
