malnutrition: a real issue

India celebrated 75th independence day,and we boast of becoming superpower within a decade but the bitter truth is inspite of having surplus crop production every year after green revolution...we failed as a nation to promise atleast basic diet for our citizens.
India is a home to every third malnourished child and this is really challenging for a country like India which is dealing with millions of mouths to fed.
The children's are future of a country and in india our future is suffering from malnourishment and stunted growth which is eventually hampering thier physical and mental growth.
Indian government had initiated handful of schemes as mid day meal scheme(world's largest food program),Annapurna schemes, government ration shops which provide subsidised foor grains to people living under poverty line but all of them suffered due to corruption and weak morals.
Before announcing any dreamy projects indian government and bureaucracy should join hands and take down this mammoth.
Simply by identifying the classes, areas and demographic it would be easy to target beneficiaries and also the local legislatives should be empowerd enough with powers and fund that they freely identify and serve the needy.
And before exporting grains government must ensure that thier own citizens have the basic food grains.
In this Era of hyper development we are losing basic human empathy and totally neglecting this important subject ...
